Material options: T-45 :- The material of choice for lightweight cages!!...
T45 for a while now has been used in the manufacturing of Roll Cage, but initially used in aircraft manufacture during WW2. The advantage of T45 is that it has a tensile strength of approximately twice that of CDS. Due to its high tensile strength, we can manufacture the cage using tubing of the same diameter, but of a thinner gauge, and therefore making the entire cage approximately 10% lighter than one made from CDS. However, T45 is more expensive than CDS and therefore only really needs to be considered if required by competitors competing at the higher end of Motorsport.
CDS (Carbon Steel) Cold Drawn Seamless Carbon Steel (CDS) is the material generally used to manufacture standard Motorsport Roll Cages as it conforms to FIA material specification requirements and offers good elongation and weld-ability. This material choice is more cost effective.
All cages are supplied, unpainted.
